. . . we went from this–looking at Pendo’s picture in her referral packet–
to this . . . meeting her in person!
I remember it as if it were yesterday. I didn’t sleep AT ALL the night before we met her. I was incredibly excited and nervous about how I would feel when meeting our third daughter for the first time. I already knew I loved her, but I longed to meet her and hold her and love on her and sing to her and put her to bed and snuggle her and wear her in the carrier and feed her and just be her mommy after four long years of waiting to meet our Kenyan daughter.
We didn’t get to bring her home with us until the 18th, but we visited her every day until then.
So, today, one year after meeting Pendo for the first time, we celebrated by getting some cupcakes from a local bakery.
The owner of the bakery was quite taken with the little girls when we were there scoping out the cupcakes. She was very interested in why and how we brought Pendo into our family, and she was so kind to us. I bet we’ll be going back there again before too long to give it another try.
We enjoyed sharing our cupcakes with Grandma and Grandpa after dinner, but we are really, really grateful that we are home with Pendo one year after meeting her.
What a change in her life and yours one year later. She is so blessed, as are you all, to have her. Give my love to Dann and Sue. I love you.
Mom
We’re really grateful, too, not only for your new daughter; but for the opportunity to be eye-witnesses of God’s sovereign grace at work in your family as He led you step-by-step and miraculously orchestrated events to bring “Pendo” “HOME”. We love you guys so much!
