celebrations and tears

Lately I’ve been feeling sad and thankful at the same time. We’ve been blessed to have great friendships with more than our fair share of fabulous people. The sad thing is, of course, saying goodbye for awhile. In the past few days we’ve had the opportunity to spend time with some great friends who live far from us. On Saturday we were able to hang out with one of my college roommates and her daughter, and on Friday and Sunday we spent a few hours with some of our other dear friends and their three kids. AND on Friday evening we hung out with some other great friends and their adorable baby. (that’s way more socializing than we usually do so close together, but we gotta’ get our friend fix while we can) There’s nothing like leaving to make you realize how rich you are.

Also on Saturday we celebrated M’s 6th birthday. She doesn’t really turn 6 for another month, but we wanted to give her one last birthday party before her life turns upside down. She invited 5 friends to celebrate with her at Build-A-Bear. We all had fun, and it was the perfect place for her to celebrate. This girl cannot own too many stuffed animals! She collects them and brings each one into her “stuffed animal family” with a little ceremony. She’s such a sweet thing, and we’re glad she could celebrate with a few friends before we leave. I’ll try to post some pics soon. We adore you, sweet girl. You are growing up way too fast!
